HIGH BRIGHAM MAN ADMITS TO DOWNLOADING OVER 600 CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
A court hearing has taken place at Carlisle Crown Court involving 21-year-old Thomas Taylor from High Brigham, near Cockermouth.He admitted to downloading over 600 images related to child abuse, including 401 indecent images classified as Category A, the most severe form, along with 161 Category B and 36 Category C images.
Additionally, he possessed 151 extreme pornographic images, some depicting bestiality, and 22 prohibited images of children.
The judge warned Taylor that he could face jail time for his actions.
His defence lawyer mentioned that Taylor is believed to suffer from autism, and a psychological report is being prepared to support this claim.
The court also mandated that Taylor's name must appear on the UK's Sex Offender Register.
Sentencing was adjourned for eight weeks to await further reports, with the next hearing scheduled for November 17.
Until then, Taylor may be granted bail under specific conditions, including no unsupervised contact with children unless accidental.
The duration of his registration on the sex offender list will depend on the final sentence handed down.
