Thomas 'Tomo' Robertson, born on May 20, 1994, and residing at 38 Provost Watt Drive in Aberdeen's Kincorth neighborhood, was convicted in 2021 for a heinous act of animal cruelty that shocked the local community and drew attention to the ongoing issue of animal abuse in the area.

According to court records and reports from the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA), Robertson repeatedly subjected his female bulldog, named Nala, to severe physical violence.

The attacks involved the use of an axe handle, fists, and a dog lead, all inflicted with apparent anger and cruelty.

The injuries sustained by Nala included bruising, flesh wounds, and bald patches, indicating a sustained pattern of abuse that left her traumatized and physically harmed.

Robertson, who was unemployed at the time, was apprehended after SSPCA officers responded to a tip-off from a concerned neighbor.

The officers visited his home in Aberdeen early in the morning of October 16, 2020, and found Nala in a distressed state.

The dog was kept behind a stair gate in the kitchen, visibly frightened and exhibiting signs of trauma.
