In March 2006, Thomas Pye of Thomas Street, Runcorn Old Town, avoided imprisonment after admitting to molesting a young girl. Pye, aged 23, pleaded guilty at Warrington Crown Court to two counts of causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity. He was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £250 in costs, and required to sign the sex offenders register for one year.
