PAEDOPHILE THREATENED TO KILL SCHOOLGIRL IF SHE REPORTED HIS ABUSE
A paedophile threatened to kill a girl if she revealed his abuse, a court heard.Thomas Green raped his victim and made the horrific threat after the ordeal.
But the schoolgirl bravely shared what had happened with her mother and police were contacted.
Green, 28, of Albemarle Road, Cross Heath, initially denied the allegations but went on to plead guilty to two charges of the rape of a child under 16 on the day of his trial in November.
He has now been handed a 17-year extended jail sentence, made up of 14 years custody and three years extended licence.
Green must serve two-thirds of the custodial element before he can be considered for release.
Anis Ali, mitigating, said Green is 'relatively immature and troubled' but prevented his victim from the ordeal of having to give evidence at a trial.
Judge Graeme Smith said Green met the test for dangerousness and placed him on the Sex Offenders' Register for life and slapped him with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
He told the court: 'I accept you have shown genuine remorse.
The pre-sentence report concludes you are a high risk of causing serious harm to children.
A significant amount of work needs to be undertaken to reduce the risk.
I conclude you meet the test for dangerousness.'
