DURHAM SEX OFFENDER ADMITS CHILD ABUSE IMAGES AND EXPLICIT MESSAGING
Three sex offenders will have to wait until next month to learn their fate after admitting a raft of allegations.Two of the defendants were caught in possession of child sex abuse images while the third was caught sending sexually explicit messages to an undercover police officer posing as a child.
Thomas Curry, of The Copse, Burnopfield, County Durham, pleaded guilty to six offences when he appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court.
The 18-year-old admitted making 57 Category A images – the worst offence; making 71 Category B images; making 99 Category C images; possession of two extreme pornographic images; possession of 72 prohibited images of children; and voyeurism.
The offences all took place between December 2018 and June 2023.
The teenager was told to attend Durham Crown Court on July 2 when District Judge Marie Mallon adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report.
He was released on unconditional bail until that date.
