THOMAS ALLISON SENTENCED IN EDINBURGH FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST YOUNG GIRL

In March 2016, Thomas Allison was involved in a case concerning Paul Michael Barrett, aged 54, from Cannich. Barrett was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh to five years and four months after pleading guilty to sexual assault and raping a nine-year-old girl. The court described Barrett's actions as a serious and manipulative breach of trust, detailing that the offences occurred over a ten-month period with multiple incidents. Barrett will serve his sentence backdated and will face lifelong notification requirements as well as restrictions on working with vulnerable individuals.
