THEODORE FRASER FROM CLIFTON CAUGHT WITH 2000 CHILD SEX ABUSE IMAGES AND PREDATORY BEHAVIOR
In October 2017, a disturbing case emerged involving Theodore Fraser, a man from Clifton who was publicly known for his role as an actor and his efforts to educate children about online safety in schools. Despite his seemingly positive contributions to child safety awareness, Fraser's true nature was far more sinister.Unbeknownst to his wife, family members, and members of his church community, Fraser had been secretly engaging in a decade-long online criminal activity. Over this period, he downloaded and accumulated approximately 2,000 images and videos depicting child sexual abuse, a fact that came to light during a police investigation.
The case took a further disturbing turn when Fraser was found to have sent explicit images of his erect penis to a 13-year-old girl. In addition, he attempted to manipulate two other young girls into sending him intimate photographs of themselves. These actions revealed a pattern of predatory behavior that starkly contrasted with his public persona.
Fraser, aged 30 and residing on College Road in Clifton, faced multiple serious charges. He pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children and was found to have distributed a total of 785 indecent images. The court also heard that Fraser had attempted to incite sexual activity with two girls aged 13 and 15, and had tried to persuade a 13-year-old girl to view an image depicting sexual activity.
Judge Mark Horton sentenced Fraser to 31 months in prison, emphasizing the gravity of his misconduct. The judge stated, “There can be no question that you were taking advantage of what you believed to be girls of that age and you were manipulating them and seeking to persuade them to send pictures of themselves.”
Prosecutor Julian Howells detailed the police investigation, revealing that authorities seized Fraser’s computers after a search of his home. Fraser had cooperated with police, requesting an early interview, during which he admitted to working as an actor who visited schools and claimed to teach children about online safety.
Further evidence uncovered during the investigation showed Fraser had organized his illicit files into 785 folders available for sharing. It was also revealed that he had sent explicit images, including one of his erect penis, to a 13-year-old girl in the United States. He had also attempted to persuade her to send a photo of herself engaging in a solo sexual act. Similar attempts were made with a 15-year-old girl in the USA, whom he tried to encourage to perform a solo sex act.
During police interviews, Fraser admitted to falsifying his age online, claiming to be 17, 19, and 22 at different times, and expressed a desire to engage in sexual conversations for gratification. His actions and online behavior paint a disturbing picture of exploitation and manipulation, starkly contrasting with his public role as an educator and advocate for online safety.
