Cwmbran Child Sexual Abuser
A PAEDOPHILE has been given a suspended prison sentence after police found over 1,000 pictures and videos of child pornography, including children as young as one year old being raped on his mobile phone. Stuart Perrett, 44, of Wesley Street in Old Cwmbran, was sentenced to two years imprisonment, suspended for two years, at Newport Crown Court on December 20. It was revealed that he had possessed and distributed thousands of images and videos depicting children being raped. Prosecutor Christopher Evans told the court that many of the videos showed children crying and trying to pull away while adults committed acts of sexual violence. The videos were described as highly disturbing and barbaric. Undercover police contacted Perrett after receiving information about his activity. The police found 1,106 images on his iPhone, including stills and videos, involving child and animal pornography, with 366 classified as the most severe Category A, involving violent rapes of children as they were screaming and crying. The court heard the inflicted pain and distress endured by the victims, all aged between one and ten. Perrett's legal representative acknowledged his offending as 'highly unpleasant' and stated that his life has fallen apart—he has lost his job and his family, though he still maintains some contact with his wife and children via FaceTime. The judge, David Wynn Morgan, sentenced him to two years in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered him to complete 250 hours of unpaid work, along with participation in rehabilitation activities and mental health treatment. Perrett is also registered as a sex offender and is subject to a five-year sexual harm prevention order. The judge emphasized the severity of his actions, highlighting the profound and terrifying damage caused to the victims.
