ABERDEENSHIRE MAN HARASSED EX-PARTNER BY CALLING HER OVER 300 TIMES
An individual named Stuart Miles from Swan Road, Ellon, faced charges at Aberdeen Sheriff Court for repeatedly contacting his former partner in an obsessive and abusive manner.Miles, aged 30, admitted to two charges of causing fear or alarm through persistent communications and derogatory remarks, covering the period from August 23 to September 15.
The details reveal that on August 23, Miles initially reached out via Facebook Messenger to discuss contact regarding their children but soon turned abusive and made unfavorable comments towards her.
Within a span of less than three hours, he attempted to video call and phone her 326 times, creating significant distress.
Later that day, he also sent her a text instructing her to go to her front door, prompting her to call police due to fears that he was lurking nearby in a secluded rural area.
Police responded but did not find him at the scene and later traced him to his residence.
On September 17, the ex-partner received multiple missed calls from a number she did not recognize, which was later confirmed to belong to Miles.
He made a spontaneous comment to police, admitting that he had been drinking and was aware that his messages were abusive.
Miles's solicitor indicated he has been referred to a psychologist and is dealing with other personal issues, including alcohol problems.
The court has deferred sentencing until October for further reports, indicating that the case is ongoing and sentencing will follow after review.
