Stuart Johnston was jailed for 10 months for beating Aileen Kennedy - then posing with her for newspaper pictures, claiming she’d been attacked by a thug who’d asked for a cigarette.
Johnston was sentenced in July but was released early due to prison rules.
He then clashed with his ex’s mother, Margaret Currie, 69, when they encountered each other in the street.
The court heard Johnston, 44, had just disembarked a bus in Kilbarchan’s High Barholm in October, when Currie saw him and told him he ‘should still be in jail,’ prompting him to verbally abuse her with a foul-mouthed tirade.
Johnston was left feeling scared and alarmed after the incident.
He was jailed for 10 months, convicted of assaulting Aileen Kennedy, after she initially didn’t want to press charges but later testified.
The sheriff gave Johnston a Community Payback Order, requiring him to do 200 hours of unpaid work over nine months, be supervised for 18 months and attend alcohol counselling.
Johnston had previously claimed she was attacked by a non-existent assailant, and he falsely accused others to the press.
During sentencing, he was criticized for acting threatening and abusive after his sentence had not yet finished.
