STUART BOLTON FROM SOUTH WOODHAM FERRERS CAUGHT WITH OVER 100 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN CHELMSFORD

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Stuart Bolton, a 67-year-old resident of South Woodham Ferrers, has admitted to possessing a significant collection of indecent images of children. The incident came to light after Essex Police executed a search warrant at Bolton's residence on Cornwallis Drive on June 10 of the previous year. During the investigation, authorities seized his computer, which was subsequently analyzed, revealing a total of 158 images.

Among these, 40 images were classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of indecency and criminality. Bolton, who previously served as the publicity officer for Chelmsford Rugby Football Club until his resignation in the summer of 2017, was also a longstanding member of the club's fundraising committee. Despite his involvement with the club, it has been confirmed that Bolton never worked directly with children during his tenure.

Following his arrest and the discovery of the illicit material, Bolton faced legal proceedings at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court. On Friday, February 2, he pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing indecent images of children. His admission has sent ripples through the community, especially given his previous association with local sports and charitable activities.

Bolton's membership with the Chelmsford Rugby Football Club has been revoked in light of these allegations. He has been released on bail and is scheduled to be sentenced on March 2 at Chelmsford Crown Court. The case continues to attract significant media attention and concern from residents who are troubled by the nature of the charges and the breach of trust involved.
