FIFE MAN SENTENCED FOR THREATS AND ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR AFTER DEBT DISPUTE
A 53-year-old man from Methilhill, Steven Drummond, was involved in threatening and abusive behavior towards a woman he knew through his job maintaining slushy drink machines. While they did not consider themselves to be in a formal relationship, they had engaged in sexual activity.
The woman provided Drummond with a nude photograph, which he subsequently saved on his phone.
Drummond later contacted the woman’s mother and made threatening statements.
According to court reports, Drummond had developed feelings for the woman and was described by others as being smitten with her.
The court heard that he sent a menacing message via Whatsapp threatening harm, which created fear and alarm for the victim.
Drummond also visited her home and workplace, taking pictures and sending messages such as 'nice outside yours,' and expressing a desire to discuss their relationship.
He admitted to sending a threatening message and acting in a threatening and abusive manner by sharing photos taken outside her home and contacting her mother about money he claimed was owed to him.
As a result, he was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
