A man named Steven Connery has been handed a lengthy prison sentence of ten years after being found guilty of a series of historic sexual offences that spanned over a decade across the regions of Forth Valley and Tayside. The offences, which occurred between May 2006 and May 2019, were brought to light following a detailed investigation that culminated in his guilty plea during a court session held at Glasgow's High Court on May 14, 2025.

Connery, who is 41 years old, was taken into custody on September 7, 2022, after two women came forward to report their experiences, prompting authorities to launch a comprehensive inquiry. The investigation uncovered disturbing evidence, including testimonies from one victim who has since tragically passed away. Despite her death, her statement was read aloud in court to ensure her voice was heard and her account considered in the sentencing process.

Detective Sergeant Kalid Abdulrahman emphasized the importance of justice in this case, stating that it was vital for her statement to be part of the proceedings. The court's decision to impose a ten-year sentence aims not only to punish the offender but also to provide a measure of closure for her family and for the other victim involved. The police have issued a plea to the public, encouraging any other potential victims or individuals with relevant information to come forward. Authorities have assured the community that all disclosures will be met with full support and confidentiality, underscoring their commitment to addressing and preventing such crimes in the future.
