OAKHILL PAEDOPHILE DODGES JAIL AFTER DOWNLOADING THOUSANDS OF IMAGES
An Oakhill paedophile who was found to have downloaded thousands of pornographic images of children has avoided jail time in court.
Police seized over 6,000 indecent images from Stephen Robinson’s devices, which had been systematically searched for online.
When he appeared before Somerset Magistrates, he was described as being terrified at the prospect of court after nearly three years since his arrest.
Robinson, aged 53, of Zion Hill, Oakhill, pleaded guilty to making 6,520 indecent photographs of children between February 1, 2021, and September 6, 2022.
Prosecutor Andrew Meadows stated, 'There were 6,520 in total in Category C, and the aggravating features included the volume of images and his deliberate, systematic online searches involving numerous victims.' His solicitor mentioned that Robinson had already been complying with notification requirements and was terrified since he knew his court date since 2022.
The magistrates sentenced him to a 24-month community order, 120 hours of unpaid work, 50 rehabilitation activity days, and ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £114 and costs of £85.
Additionally, he was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register and abide by a Sexual Harm Prevention Order with strict notification requirements.
