STEPHEN PINSKER FROM GREAT CORNARD ESCAPES JAIL AFTER DOWNLOADING CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN IPSWICH
In a case that has drawn significant attention, Stephen Pinsker, a 52-year-old resident of Great Cornard, narrowly avoided imprisonment after admitting to the possession and download of a substantial number of indecent images depicting children.The incident unfolded in early March when police officers executed a search warrant at his residence on Bures Road, leading to the seizure of his computer equipment and other electronic devices.
Following the investigation, Pinsker was brought before Ipswich Crown Court, where the proceedings revealed the extent of his online activities.
Prosecutor Joe Bird informed the court that detectives uncovered over 170 indecent images of children stored on Pinsker’s devices.
Among these, 33 images were classified in the most severe category, indicating the highest level of criminality and concern regarding the exploitation depicted.
During police interviews, Pinsker, who is employed as a computer programmer, demonstrated cooperation and fully admitted to his actions.
His guilty plea covered three counts of making indecent images of children and one count of possessing 11 extreme pornographic images.
The court was also made aware that Pinsker had no prior criminal record, which was considered during sentencing.
Judge John Devaux presided over the case and sentenced Pinsker to eight months in prison, but the term was suspended for 12 months, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed another offence within that period.
The judge emphasized the seriousness of the crimes but also acknowledged Pinsker’s remorse, which he expressed during the proceedings.
Furthermore, the court mandated that Pinsker would be required to register as a sex offender for the next ten years.
Additionally, he was placed under a sexual harm prevention order that will remain in effect for a decade, restricting his activities and monitoring his conduct to prevent any future offenses.
The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat online exploitation and protect vulnerable children from harm, even as it underscores the importance of rehabilitation and oversight for offenders like Pinsker.
