Golborne Child Sexual Abuser
A 79-year-old man named Stephen Finch, residing in Golborne, has been found guilty of possessing indecent images of children and videos depicting child abuse. The investigation revealed that Finch had actively searched for child pornography, including images of children as young as five years old. To conceal his activities, he utilized proxy servers, making it more difficult for authorities to trace his online behavior.

Law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at Finch’s residence in Frithville, where they discovered a significant number of files related to child exploitation on his computer. The evidence collected was substantial enough to lead to his conviction, highlighting the severity of his actions.

The court acknowledged Finch’s remorse during the proceedings, which was taken into consideration. As part of the legal process, a pre-sentencing report has been ordered to assess his background and potential risk factors. The case has been adjourned, and Finch’s sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.

In addition to the conviction, Finch is mandated to register as a sex offender. He is also legally required to avoid any unsupervised contact with children unless such contact is supervised by a responsible adult, in accordance with the court’s orders. The case underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable minors from harm.
