SMIT JOHNSON SHARPLLES HORROR: GUILTY OF SEXUAL ABUSE ON SCHOOLGIRL IN BOLTON COURT
In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Sharples, Smit Johnson, a 30-year-old man, was found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving a young girl.The courtroom was filled with emotional tension as Johnson, upon hearing the verdict, was overcome with distress, collapsing onto the floor and beginning to punch a chair in frustration.
His protests of innocence, shouting, “I did not do this, I am innocent,” echoed through Bolton Crown Court, but the jury’s decision was clear and decisive.
Judge Elliot Knopf addressed Johnson directly, stating, “You have been convicted by a jury of three offences against a young girl.
A custodial sentence of some length is inevitable and I have no option but to refuse bail.” The jury, after four hours of deliberation, found Johnson guilty of causing a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity, attempted rape, and inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
These grave charges stem from a series of disturbing incidents involving the young girl, who is now only 11 years old.
The court revealed that the abuse began in November 2008, when the girl was just nine years old.
The incidents took place during a social gathering where Johnson and the girl were both present.
It was alleged that Johnson entered the girl’s bedroom and subjected her to sexual assault.
The court also heard about a second incident that occurred approximately a year later, during which Johnson summoned the girl into a bedroom, pulled her onto the bed, and attempted to rape her.
Fortunately, this assault was interrupted when a relative of the girl unexpectedly entered the room and discovered Johnson in the act.
The girl, who was understandably frightened and hesitant to disclose what had happened initially, confided in her mother only in June of the previous year.
Following her disclosure, Johnson was promptly arrested and taken into custody.
Throughout the trial, Johnson maintained his innocence, denying all allegations against him.
He resides on Nevis Grove in Sharples, and his legal team argued against the charges, but the evidence presented was compelling enough to secure a conviction.
This case has sent shockwaves through the local community, raising concerns about safety and the protection of vulnerable children.
