SIMON CREEDY FROM QUENIBOROUGH SENTENCED AFTER GROOMING 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN WARWICK
In a case that has drawn significant attention, Simon Creedy, a 35-year-old man residing on New Street in Queniborough, has been found guilty of serious sexual offenses involving a minor.The incident unfolded in Warwick, where Creedy spent the night with a 15-year-old girl who had deliberately climbed out of her bedroom window to meet him, raising alarm and prompting a police investigation.
Creedy appeared before Warwick Crown Court to face charges related to the grooming and sexual activity with the underage girl.
He pleaded guilty to the allegations, which revealed a troubling pattern of behavior that began through his employment as a mobile farrier.
Prosecutor Sophie Lomas detailed how the relationship between Creedy and the girl developed over time, becoming increasingly intimate.
She explained that the girl, who was under the legal age of consent, and Creedy engaged in physical contact, including kissing, during their meetings.
According to the prosecution, the girl would secretly leave her home at night by climbing out of her bedroom window, and Creedy would pick her up nearby.
The situation escalated in June when, after sneaking out of her house despite being grounded, the girl met Creedy in Warwick.
The two then checked into a hotel, where the girl spent the night with him.
The following morning, when she failed to return home, her absence was reported to the authorities, triggering a police investigation.
Throughout the night, police officers conducted inquiries, including sending multiple text messages to the girl in an attempt to locate her.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., she finally contacted the police, revealing her whereabouts.
Officers promptly responded by going to the hotel, where they arrested Creedy.
The girl was subsequently taken back to her home.
Evidence found on Creedy’s phone included sexually explicit messages exchanged between him and the girl, further substantiating the allegations against him.
In sentencing, the court imposed a community order on Creedy, which includes three years of supervision.
Additionally, he was ordered to participate in a three-year sex offender treatment program to address his behavior.
As part of the legal requirements, Creedy was also mandated to register as a sex offender and was placed under a sexual offences prevention order.
This order specifically prohibits him from having unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 16 unless he has the explicit consent of the child's parent or guardian.
Judge Robert Orme emphasized the seriousness of the offenses and ordered Creedy to pay costs amounting to £500.
The case underscores the importance of safeguarding minors and the legal consequences faced by those who exploit their vulnerabilities.
