MOST PROLIFIC OFFENDER IN SOMERSET JAILED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES
The 77-year-old man of Woolavington was convicted of multiple non-recent child sex offences in boats and caravans in the Bridgwater area.The crimes included 12 rapes, three sexual assaults and two counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity and Jenkins was sentenced in January at Taunton Crown Court.
The multiple non-recent child sex offences against two teenage girls took place on his boats and the club house of the sailing club he belonged to.
The offences also involved crimes at a caravan he kept in Cannington and at one of his victim’s homes.
He pleaded guilty to 78 charges between 2008 and 2017 and was given prison terms for each charge, including six life sentences which will run concurrently.
The prolific paedophile will have to wait nine years before he can be considered for parole.
