JAI FOR MAN WHO ATTACKED EX-GIRLFRIEND IN HOUSE
A man was sentenced to jail following an assault on his former girlfriend during a social gathering with friends.Shaun Riley had ended his relationship with the woman three weeks prior to the event, which occurred at a property in King's Lynn where friends were present.
During proceedings at Norwich Crown Court, it emerged that Riley's behavior suddenly shifted when he told the woman to "f**k off," then took her phone and shattered it against a door.
Subsequently, Riley assaulted her by pushing her to the ground and kicking her, causing her to bleed.
Prosecutor Martin Ivory explained, "He kicked her all over," during the hearing.
Riley, previously living on Pleasant Court in Lynn, appeared in court on Tuesday (November 11) to be sentenced after admitting to assault resulting in actual bodily harm and criminal damage for the incident dating back to June 19 this year.
He also pleaded guilty to additional crimes, including handling stolen goods and defrauding a shop through false representation, for which he received £800 in exchange for stolen jewelry sold at a second-hand store in Lynn.
Furthermore, Riley admitted to possessing cocaine on November 23, 2024, and to breaching two probation terms by missing scheduled appointments in May.
The court sentenced him to a total term of two years and six months in prison.
