FORMER SOLDIER AND CHARITY FUNDRAISER ADMITS RAPING GIRL, 13, AT HIGHLANDS CAMPSITE
Shaun McKenna, 36, who lives in a nursing home in Kinross due to Huntingdon's, has admitted raping a girl, 13, at a Highlands campsite in 2020.He also sexually assaulted two other female victims.
McKenna, a former soldier and charity fundraiser, pled guilty to sex crimes against three females.
The court heard that the young victim was alone in her tent when McKenna entered and threatened her, saying "Tell anyone and I will do worse." He initially groped her, she resisted, but he then raped her and told her to stop crying and screaming, warning her not to tell.
The victim later revealed the assault in 2022, leading to his arrest.
McKenna, diagnosed with Huntingdon's Disease in 2022, is currently in a nursing home and faces a likely jail term at sentencing in April.
In addition to the Highlands assault, he targeted a woman via Facebook in April 2023, and another victim in 2008.
McKenna has shown remorse but will await sentencing.
