FORMER X FACTOR CONTESTANT FROM DEAL SENT ABUSIVE MESSAGES TO POLICE OFFICER WHO INVESTIGATED HER THREE-CAMPAIGN OF STALKING
A woman previously jailed for waging a three-year stalking campaign against her therapist has now admitted sending abusive and threatening messages to the police officer who investigated the case.Former X Factor contestant Sharon Parry began contacting PC Lauren Eyre-Jackson in March after claiming to have heard a rumour the officer had slept with the counsellor.
Parry, of Dorset Gardens, Walmer, continued contacting PC Eyre-Jackson until April 29, before she was arrested and charged with sending communications of an offensive nature.
She admitted the offence when she appeared before magistrates in Folkestone on December 17.
The court heard Parry – previously known as Sharon Stewart – was jailed for three years in 2018 after terrorising her therapist and his family with threats that escalated into violent acts.
She set up fake Facebook accounts, sent hundreds of messages, slashed his car roof, threw food at his door, emptied bins on his driveway, attempted to break into his home and made false allegations that led to him losing his job.
She even sent him pictures of a gun and crossbow with the words: “Which one will it be?” Just two weeks after being released from the sentence, she was jailed again for breaching the order after telling the court she carried out the harassment to get herself sent back to prison.
Prosecutor Julie Farbrace told the court PC Eyre-Jackson was familiar with Parry, having investigated the original stalking case.
The first message was sent to her work email and it said, ‘Hi, is it true you slept with him?’ Parry then sent emails telling PC Eyre-Jackson she should not be a police officer and that she would see her around.
On April 4, there were four missed calls from a private number, and during one call, Parry called the officer a bitch.
She later received additional calls and messages, including threats like ‘You will get yours’.
The messages were threatening and abusive, causing distress to PC Eyre-Jackson.
Magistrates heard Parry has not committed any offences since her latest imprisonment in December 2021 for breaching a restraining order.
Her lawyer explained that her behaviour was triggered by trauma related to her past, including her husband's death and her mental health struggles.
Parry has a long history of trauma and mental health issues, which her lawyer said led to her recent actions.
She is scheduled to return for sentencing on January 30 and was released on bail.
