A man identified as Shahid Khan, residing on Sommerville Road in Small Heath, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of multiple serious charges related to child sexual exploitation. The case, which unfolded in Birmingham, involved the grooming and abuse of three young girls, aged between 13 and 15 years old, by Khan, who targeted them during social gatherings where he supplied them with alcohol and drugs.

According to West Midlands Police, Khan engaged in a pattern of predatory behavior, luring vulnerable minors into situations where they were intoxicated and vulnerable to sexual exploitation. Evidence collected by law enforcement indicated that these girls were present at parties where Khan was present, and at these events, he would facilitate their consumption of alcohol and drugs before abusing them sexually.

Shahid Khan faced multiple charges, including five counts of sexual activity with minors and engaging in sexual communications with one of the girls when she was only 13 years old. Additionally, he was charged with perverting the course of justice after attempting to influence the victims by using a mobile phone while incarcerated, trying to persuade them to withdraw their allegations against him.

Initially scheduled for trial, Khan, aged 31, changed his plea to guilty on the first day of proceedings, a decision that brought relief to the victims and law enforcement alike. His sentencing followed a comprehensive investigation conducted over more than two years by officers from the Public Protection Unit, who meticulously gathered evidence, took statements from the victims, and provided ongoing support throughout the legal process.

Inspector Joe Davenport, who led the investigation, publicly commended the bravery of the victims, emphasizing that their willingness to come forward and testify was instrumental in securing justice. He described Khan as a
