DRUNKEN LOVER'S VIOLENT ATTACK AT EX-PARTNER'S DOOR PROMPTS COURT HEARING
Doorbell footage showed the moment a man drunkenly punched and kicked at his ex-partner’s door.Serdar Yavuz (47) had become disgruntled when intoxicated after a phone call with his ex-partner and her new partner, before he arrived at her door on May 4 this year and began shouting and swearing.
The CCTV footage presented in court also revealed Yavuz threatening to kill the new partner.
The prosecutor, Martina Eastwood, stated: “The complainer is completely separated from the accused.
On the night in question, he had texted her and appeared at her door, shouting, swearing, kicking the door and threatening to kill the new partner.
There were two children in the house at the time.” Yavuz pleaded guilty to threatening and abusive behaviour, failing to provide a specimen of breath to police officers, and repeatedly contacting his ex-partner while on bail.
Sheriff Robert Frazer deferred sentencing until September 23 to allow for background reports to be completed, and he continued the non-harassment order and disqualified Yavuz from driving during this period.
Defense solicitor John Maccoll described the incident: “On the date in question, he had taken a quantity of alcohol and had talked to his ex-partner and her new partner on the phone.
He took umbrage and it was inappropriate.”
