2011: MAN JAILED FOR STABBING BROTHER IN THE BACK WITH A KITCHEN KNIFE
The defendant, a man who stabbed his brother with a sizable kitchen knife following a drunken argument, has been jailed.
The injury from the stabbing punctured Lee Knowles’ right lung and damaged his throat.
The court was told, however, that Lee has chosen to forgive his brother, Sean.
After the attack, Lee staggered to the adjacent property while Sean ran away.
A neighbor found him with the knife still lodged in his back.
Sean later returned to the scene, shouting apologies and urging that his brother not die, before fleeing again.
Witness Jade Nicholson, who is now involved with Lee, saw the incident unfold.
Lee subsequently sent a letter to the court, expressing forgiveness and emphasizing their ongoing relationship.
Judge John Roberts sentenced Sean to 29 months in prison, commended his brother’s recovery, and imposed a restraining order.
Sean, aged 32 and from Fieldhead Road, Astley, Tyldesley, admitted to intentionally wounding Lee.
