DRUNKEN PARTNER ATTACKER RECEIVES SUSPENDED SENTENCE IN BURNTWOOD
Drunken Scott Woolscroft attacked his partner in an alcohol-fueled rage and then returned days later to assault her again.
Police bailed Woolscroft after the initial attack on March 19 and prohibited him from going to their Chase Road home in Burntwood or making contact with his partner.
Instead, he set up camp in the garage of the property and, during another drunken rage, assaulted the woman again on March 29.
The victim, with whom he had been in a relationship for 19 months, reported that on March 19, Woolscroft was drunk and asleep on the sofa when she arrived home.
He became abusive and punched her.
She punched him in self-defense, but he pulled her hair.
She managed to escape and called the police.
Woolscroft was arrested and given police bail.
On March 29, after seeing him at the house, she asked him to leave, but he headbutted her and waited in the garage for police to arrest him.
Woolscroft admitted two counts of assault at North Staffordshire Justice Centre and was sentenced to four months in prison, suspended for 12 months.
The court was told he has a drinking problem, has no prior convictions for violence, and is engaging with probation services.
