SCOTT POWELL SENTENCED IN ABBOTS LANGLEY FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES

A man identified as Scott Powell has been formally sentenced in connection with the distribution of indecent images and pseudo-photographs depicting children. The sentencing took place at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on March 13, where Powell, aged 49, received a 22-month prison term, which was suspended for a period of 24 months.

The criminal activities for which Powell was convicted occurred in the village of Abbots Langley, with the offenses spanning various dates or date ranges within June 2022. The court found him guilty of two counts each of distributing images or pseudo-images of children, categorized into three distinct classes: Category A, B, and C.

Category A images involve the most severe forms of abuse, including penetrative sexual acts, sexual acts involving animals, or sadistic acts. Category B images depict non-penetrative sexual activities, while Category C encompasses any indecent images that do not fall into the first two categories.

Powell, who resides on Globe Pond Road in London, is also mandated to undertake 20 days of rehabilitation activities aimed at addressing his behavior. Additionally, he will be under continuous monitoring for a period of 12 months.

As part of his sentence, Powell has been placed on the sex offender register and is subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, which restricts his activities and contact to prevent further offenses.
