Update 08/03/2026: A paedophile who "showed no remorse" for preying on two young girls was strongly criticised by a judge as he was jailed for 13 years.Scott Cameron, 41, pressured a 13-year-old girl to send him naked pictures and have sex with him in the back his partner's car after meeting her at a school open day.
Cameron was sentenced to 12 years in prison with an extended licence period of six years in relation to the most recent set of offences.
He was sentenced to 12 months in relation to the early 2000s offence, to be served consecutively.
He will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
He was classed as a dangerous offender, has been barred from working with children, issued with a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and restraining orders for both victims.

November 2025: A former firefighter blackmailed a 13-year-old girl to send him nude pictures and have sex with him in the back of his car after meeting her at a school open day.
Ex-Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service firefighter Scott Cameron claimed he thought the girl was 16, despite the fact she had written that she was 13 in early communication with staff at the station where he worked.
Cameron, now 40, was convicted last month of 10 counts of grooming and engaging in sexual activity with a teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, between 2022 and 2024.
He started contact after attending the teenager's school for a community activity day and was contacted by her via a handwritten card.
Cameron then began to communicate with her using her phone number, pretending to be the firefighter on the card, and made her feel special.
He eventually revealed his true identity and requested to meet, which led to sexual encounters including a secret meeting where they had sex in his car.
Cameron also engaged in serious sexual activity with her several times, and the victim later deleted his number after he became argumentative.
The police discovered sexualized messages and an image of a handwritten card from the victim on Cameron's phone when he was arrested.
Cameron lied to the police, claiming he had not engaged in any sexual activity with her and suggesting she had been harassing him.
During his trial, he admitted that sexual activity happened but believed she was 16, citing her height and appearance.
CPS senior prosecutor Georgiana Panteli described Cameron as a manipulative paedophile who exploited his position of trust as a fireman to groom and abuse a vulnerable young girl.
Cameron will be sentenced at a later date.
