SANDRA STOREY, ASHLEY WILSON, ANDREW SHARPE SHOCK GRANGE WITH CHILD SEX ABUSE CASE IN LONDON COURT

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Grange, a woman named Sandra Storey, aged 28, faced the Court of Appeal in London after her attempt to reduce her prison sentence was rejected. The case involves heinous acts of child exploitation and the production of indecent material involving minors aged between eight and 14 years old.

According to court proceedings, it was revealed that Sandra Storey, who resides at Corner House on Main Street in Grange, was directly involved in the filming of young children engaged in sexualized acts. The court heard that she took part in creating a highly disturbing video that depicted children in compromising situations, with her apparently enjoying the entire process. Witnesses described her as shrieking with laughter during the filming, especially when one of the children simulated sexual acts on a male participant.

The offences came to light when it was established that Storey’s two friends, Ashley Wilson and Andrew Sharpe, both residents of Dearden Close in Grange, had befriended children and lured them to their flat. There, the children were reportedly given alcohol and shown pornographic videos, further exposing them to inappropriate material and behavior. The court detailed that on or around May 5 or 6, 2006, Storey recorded a video at her flat where Wilson and Sharpe were seen engaging with the children in sexualized conduct.

During the sentencing in Carlisle Crown Court in August of the previous year, Storey pleaded guilty to charges of allowing indecent photographs of a child to be taken. On February 22 of this year, she was sentenced to 21 months in prison and was also subjected to a sexual offences prevention order, aimed at preventing her from reoffending.

Sir Christopher Holland, presiding over the appeal, described the video as “truly shocking” and emphasized that Storey appeared to derive pleasure from the acts depicted. He recounted that she was “enjoying every minute of it,” with her laughter echoing as a naked child jumped onto the back of one of the men, mimicking sexual acts. The footage also showed one of the men simulating sex with a female child on a sofa, further illustrating the severity of the offences.

Storey’s legal team argued that her sentence was excessively harsh and that she should have received a community order rather than imprisonment. However, Sir Christopher, along with Mr. Justice Hedley, firmly rejected these arguments, stating that the sentence was justified given the gravity of her actions. The court upheld her 21-month jail term, affirming the seriousness of the crimes committed.

Meanwhile, Wilson and Sharpe received sentences of 32 months each for their respective sex offences, reflecting the court’s stance on the severity of their conduct and the exploitation of vulnerable minors in this disturbing case.
