SAMUEL FORTY FROM ABBERLEY SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ACTS WITH 14-YEAR-OLD NEAR STOURPORT-ON-SEVERN
In a case that has shocked the local community of Abberley and the surrounding areas near Stourport-on-Severn, Samuel Forty, an 18-year-old male, was found guilty of engaging in illegal sexual activities with a 14-year-old girl. The incident unfolded in December of the previous year, revealing a disturbing pattern of behavior that has now led to his imprisonment and registration as a sex offender.According to court proceedings, the events began when the girl, who was notably more experienced in sexual matters, and Forty, who was 18 at the time, engaged in a series of sexual acts after consuming significant amounts of alcohol. The court was informed that both teenagers had each drunk approximately half a bottle of vodka. They reportedly stripped off their clothes and engaged in sexual intercourse multiple times within the confines of Forty’s home, located on Suffolk Lane in Abberley, a village near Stourport-on-Severn.
The situation came to light when the girl’s father arrived unexpectedly at Forty’s residence. He had become suspicious after discovering that his daughter had lied about her whereabouts and was not staying with a friend as she had claimed. Upon arriving at the house, he found the girl and Forty together, which led to the revelation of their activities.
During the court hearing, Mary Wallace, the prosecutor, detailed that the girl was sexually experienced but only 14 years old at the time of the incident. Forty, who was 18, admitted to having sexual relations with her and acknowledged that he was aware of her age. He also asked her to keep their activities secret. The court was told that the girl had added Forty as a friend on Facebook, and through online communication, Forty had contacted one of her friends. A disturbing detail emerged when a topless photograph of the girl was discovered on Forty’s laptop.
Forty pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual activity with a child and an additional charge related to possessing an indecent photograph of another 14-year-old girl. He was sentenced to 18 months in a young offenders’ institution and was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years. It was also revealed that he had already served seven months in custody prior to sentencing.
The defense, represented by Jabeen Akhtar, argued that Forty was immature and that there was no evidence to suggest he targeted the girl or used coercion. The court was also informed that Forty had been a victim of a serious robbery at his home several years earlier, which left him depressed, especially when he learned that some of his assailants were about to be released from prison.
Judge Robert Juckes QC addressed the court, noting that men who engage in sexual activities with underage girls typically face immediate imprisonment. However, he acknowledged that in this case, the girl was sexually experienced and had initiated the encounters herself, which influenced his sentencing decision.
