Cirencester Child Sexual Abuser
In July 2014, Samuel Adlington, a 20-year-old from Cirencester, was found to possess child abuse images. The incident arose after he posted compromising photographs of his ex-girlfriend on a social media platform as an act of revenge following their breakup. Adlington, who lives on Cheltenham Road in Stratton, pleaded guilty to seven counts of possessing indecent images and videos across all categories of severity. Specifically, he admitted to possessing four images at level A—considered the most serious—two at level B, and 11 at level C.
During the hearing at Gloucester Crown Court, prosecuting barrister Janine Wood explained, "The offences came to light when the defendant’s relationship with a young female broke down, and when she refused to reconcile with him, he posted intimate photographs of her on a social media website to get his revenge, which led to police involvement."
Judge Jamie Tabor ordered a pre-sentence report to be prepared and granted Adlington unconditional bail until August 26.
