RYAN SCOTT FROM FORTH VALLEY CONVICTED OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN GLASGOW

A man residing in the Forth Valley region has been officially convicted of committing a series of heinous sexual offenses against young children over a span of three years. The conviction was handed down on Wednesday, February 2, following a comprehensive trial held at the High Court in Glasgow. Ryan Scott, aged 35 at the time of the verdict, faced multiple charges related to sexual misconduct involving minors, which he committed between the years 2017 and 2020 across various locations within the Forth Valley area.

During the trial, the court found Scott guilty of four separate charges brought under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009. These charges involved children under the age of 13, as well as one victim who was between 13 and 16 years old. The severity of these offenses underscores the grave nature of the crimes committed and the impact on the victims involved.

In a statement, Detective Sergeant Craig Faulds, a representative of Forth Valley’s public protection unit, expressed the gravity of the case. He stated, "Ryan Scott has been found guilty of several serious offences against young children and he will now be held accountable, by the courts and the justice system, for his actions." Faulds also reaffirmed the commitment of Police Scotland to thoroughly investigating such crimes and providing support to the victims, emphasizing the importance of justice and safeguarding vulnerable populations.

Following his conviction, Ryan Scott has been remanded in custody, and his sentencing hearing is scheduled to take place next month at Inverness High Court.
