OLDHAM MAN JAILED FOR CONTROLLING BEHAVIOUR AND STALKING
Ryan Scholes, an Oldham man from Mersey Road North, Failsworth, engaged in controlling and coercive behavior over his partner for a period of two years before stalking her.
During this time, he was found to have repeatedly accessed her social media accounts, dictated what she could and could not wear, and prevented her from seeing her family.
The court heard that between November 2022 and November 2024, these controlling behaviors took place, and subsequently, between November last year and July this year, Scholes stalked the woman, affecting her daily life.
The court also revealed that between June 26 and July 2, Scholes violated a non-molestation order by phone contact.
For his actions, Scholes was sentenced to 12 months in jail and received a five-year restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the woman or entering her residence.
