RYAN PRICE FROM KINGSBURY SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY IN HARROW
In a case that has shocked the local community, Ryan Price, a 41-year-old teacher and IT co-ordinator at a primary school in Brent, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison by Harrow Crown Court on Friday. The conviction stems from a series of serious charges related to the creation, possession, and distribution of indecent images of children, including highly disturbing photographs involving a seven-year-old pupil.Price, who resides on Sycamore Grove in Kingsbury, was found guilty of 18 separate charges. These charges encompassed the making, possessing, and sharing of illicit images, some of which were recorded on his mobile phone. One particularly disturbing image was a photograph of a half-naked young girl, recorded on March 22, during a school day. Authorities uncovered that Price had hidden other child abuse images across various computer systems, indicating a deliberate effort to conceal his activities.
Despite facing 22 charges initially, Price pleaded not guilty to all but was ultimately convicted on 18 counts. He was acquitted of three charges, and one related charge was dropped. As part of his sentence, Price has been permanently barred from working with children and will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register for the rest of his life. Additionally, a sexual offenders’ prevention order has been imposed, which will stay in effect until 2029.
The investigation into Price’s activities began in November 2003 when a female teacher at the same school reported that he had lent her a CD that appeared to be blank but actually contained images of children. This allegation prompted a search of the school premises, during which police seized computer equipment. Further searches at Price’s home in Kingsbury yielded more electronic devices, leading to his arrest. During these searches, authorities discovered numerous still images and videos depicting child abuse, including the incriminating photograph of the seven-year-old girl on his mobile phone.
The case took a further turn when another teacher at the school reported finding child abuse images on a laptop computer that Price had given her. As the IT co-ordinator, Price was responsible for distributing laptops to staff members, and investigators confirmed that he had been using the computer when the illicit images were saved. This evidence solidified the case against him.
Price was arrested in Devon in May 2004 by detectives from Wembley CID and subsequently charged. Detective Chief Inspector Raffaele D’Orsi commented on the case, stating, “This conviction is the result of a complex two-and-a-half-year investigation, which has concluded with Price being convicted of making, possessing, and distributing some of the most repugnant and abusive images of young girls that I have ever seen. It is my firm belief that Price used his profession as a façade to conceal his habits, and I would like to thank everyone who has played a part in bringing him to justice.”
