VILE THUG JAILED FOR 10 YEARS FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING, HEADBUTTING, STRANGLING AND PUNCHING WOMAN
A depraved thug from Daventry has been sentenced to prison following an attack that involved headbutting, strangling, punching, and sexual assault.Ryan John Smith, aged 29 and formerly residing in Daventry, committed the assault on June 5, 2022.
During the attack, Smith seized the woman and tore a chain from around her neck.
He then threw her to the ground, stood over her, and struck her repeatedly with his fists.
The assault escalated to a sexual nature while she was crying out for him to stop.
As a result, the victim ended up with two black eyes, a fractured toe, and multiple bruises across her body.
After the incident, she reported the assault to Northamptonshire Police.
Smith faced charges of criminal damage and assault, to which he pleaded guilty, and for sexual assault, which went to trial.
In December last year, Northampton Crown Court convicted him after the jury deliberated for only 40 minutes.
Smith was sentenced to an extended term of 10 years, which includes seven years of imprisonment plus a three-year extension period.
