RYAN HUNTER FROM BALLINGRY INVOLVED IN VIOLENT INCIDENT IN LUMPHINNANS AND COURT CASE IN DUNFERMLINE

In a disturbing series of events spanning over several years, Ryan Hunter, a resident of Ballingry, has been involved in multiple incidents of violence and threatening behavior. The most recent case took place in 2022, when Hunter was accused of subjecting his former partner to a six-day period of abuse in Lumphinnans.

According to court records, Hunter, aged 21 at the time, appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court to face charges related to his conduct between July 23 and July 28 of the previous year. The incident occurred on Main Street in Lumphinnans, where Hunter allegedly engaged in a pattern of abusive behavior directed at his former partner. The court heard that Hunter had entered her home uninvited, which already constituted a breach of her privacy and safety.

During this unwelcome visit, Hunter reportedly shouted at her, used offensive language, and physically assaulted her by grabbing her clothing and forcefully throwing her onto a sofa. The victim was also subjected to further aggression when Hunter seized her television remote control and broke it. The court was told that Hunter's anger culminated in him punching a wall, causing damage to the property. These actions paint a picture of a sustained campaign of intimidation and violence.

In addition to these allegations, Hunter admitted to breaching a community payback order, which indicates prior involvement with the justice system. Sheriff Tim Niven-Smith ordered that reports be prepared for Hunter’s sentencing, scheduled for April 6, and emphasized the seriousness of the case.

Looking back to 2019, Hunter, then 18, was involved in an earlier incident at the same Ballingry address. On November 9, he admitted to threatening his girlfriend and snatching her mobile phone. The court heard that Hunter behaved in a threatening and aggressive manner, shouting, swearing, and making offensive remarks towards his partner. He also forcibly took her phone, which contained a male contact, and refused to return it. Furthermore, Hunter damaged property by striking a living room door, causing visible damage.

The incident stemmed from an argument about keys to their flat, which escalated when Hunter barged past the complainant, shouted at her, and made threatening remarks. The court was told that Hunter’s behavior was indicative of coercive control, as he sought to dominate and intimidate his partner. Sheriff Alastair Brown described Hunter’s actions as disturbing, noting that his shouting, swearing, and controlling behavior were serious concerns. As a result, Hunter was sentenced to 66 hours of unpaid work and a two-year non-harassment order to prevent further incidents.

These cases highlight a pattern of aggressive and controlling behavior by Ryan Hunter, with legal proceedings ongoing to address his conduct and ensure appropriate consequences.
