DUNOON MAN FOUND GUILTY OF EMOTIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL DOMESTIC ABUSE ON MULL
Ryan Bradbury, who was found guilty of a campaign of emotional and psychological domestic abuse against Kathryn Douglas.Kathryn, a mental health nurse from Dunoon, met Bradbury online in 2022 and moved to Mull to be with him in December 2023.
Initially excited about their future, she believed their relationship was leading to marriage and a new beginning.
However, Bradbury's behavior worsened over time, including controlling, angry outbursts, and emotional abuse.
Kathryn's health declined as a result of the abuse, and she was subjected to manipulative and aggressive behavior, including public rages and emotional control.
After her family intervened and concerns were reported to police, Bradbury was arrested and charged in March 2025.
His case went to trial, and he was found guilty of a course of conduct of domestic abuse.
He was sentenced at Dunoon Sheriff Court to 250 hours of community service over 12 months, with a two-year non-harassment order.
Kathryn and her family hope her story serves as a warning and encourages others to seek help, emphasizing that abuse can be emotional and psychological without physical violence.
