ALLITHWAITE MAN RUSSELL VAN DER BEECK CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN GRANGE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Allithwaite and the surrounding area, 42-year-old Russell Van Der Beeck from Flookburgh Road, Allithwaite, has admitted to downloading and possessing a significant number of illegal images depicting child abuse.The incident came to light when authorities uncovered the extent of his online activity, leading to his appearance before Kendal Magistrates’ Court on a recent Wednesday, the 23rd of June.
During the court proceedings, Van Der Beeck pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to the possession and creation of illicit images.
Specifically, he admitted to making 42 images classified as Category A, which are considered the most severe due to their explicit content involving penetrative sexual acts, and also involving sadism or sexual acts with animals.
Additionally, he acknowledged possessing 58 images categorized as Category B, and a substantial 329 images classified as Category C, which are still illegal but considered less severe than Category A.
The total number of images in his possession was reported to be 429, spanning across all three categories.
The authorities emphasized the gravity of the case, noting that the images involved the exploitation of children and were of a nature that warrants serious legal action.
The magistrates, after reviewing the case, determined that their sentencing powers were insufficient to address the severity of the crimes committed.
As a result, the case was transferred to Carlisle Crown Court for a more comprehensive hearing.
Van Der Beeck is scheduled to be sentenced on July 22, and the community awaits the outcome of the proceedings, which will determine the legal consequences for his actions.
