ROY WHITE REEDHAM MAN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE AGAINST GIRL IN NORWICH

In a case that has shocked the local community, Roy White, a 44-year-old man from Reedham, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of a series of serious sexual offences committed against a young girl. The offences spanned over a period of three years, beginning when the victim was just 12 years old and continuing until she reached 15, with the severity of the crimes escalating as time went on.

White, who resided on Station Drive in Reedham, appeared before Norwich Crown Court to face the charges. The court was informed that he had committed a total of eleven counts of sexual offences against the girl, whose identity remains protected for legal reasons. During the proceedings, White pleaded guilty to all charges, acknowledging his guilt in the matter.

Following the conviction, the court imposed a series of strict penalties on White. He was ordered to be placed on the sex offenders’ register for the remainder of his life, a measure that underscores the gravity of his crimes. Additionally, he was prohibited from working with children in any capacity and was subjected to a sexual offences prevention order, which restricts his activities and movements to prevent further harm.

The sentencing was delivered by Recorder Guy Ayers, who expressed strong condemnation of White’s actions. In his remarks, the judge stated, “You have not shown one ounce of remorse or regret for what you have done. You ought to be ashamed of what you have done. I see this as a grave example of a campaign of sexual abuse that can only be dealt with by a significant amount of time in custody.”

It was also noted that White was released from prison in 2018 after serving six years for previous offences. Currently, he resides in the Norwich area, but his criminal record and the court’s orders will significantly restrict his freedom and ability to engage with vulnerable individuals in the future.
