ROSS EVERITT FROM FEERING CAUGHT WITH EXTREME PORNOGRAPHY AND CHILD IMAGES IN ESSEX

In June 2022, a disturbing case involving Ross Everitt, a resident of Feering, came to light through legal proceedings at Colchester Magistrates’ Court. The case revealed that Everitt, aged 40, was found in possession of highly illegal and disturbing material that included videos depicting sexual acts involving animals such as horses and dogs, as well as photographs of children engaged in sexual activities.

During the court hearing, it was disclosed that police officers had uncovered the illicit content on electronic devices belonging to Everitt during an investigation. The authorities detailed that the material included not only extreme pornography but also indecent images of children, which is a serious criminal offense. The evidence presented showed that Everitt had both made and distributed such indecent photographs, further aggravating his charges.

Despite the gravity of the offenses, magistrates decided not to impose a prison sentence on Everitt. Instead, they ordered that all electronic devices, photographs, and videos involved in the crimes be confiscated and destroyed to prevent further distribution or access. As part of his sentencing, Everitt was required to register as a sex offender for a period of five years, a measure intended to monitor and manage his potential risk to the community.

Additionally, he was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which also lasts for five years, restricting his activities and contact to prevent any future offenses. The court mandated that Everitt participate in up to 60 days of a rehabilitation activity requirement, aimed at addressing underlying issues related to his behavior. To contribute to community restitution, he was also ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work.

Financial penalties included a court costs payment of £200 and a surcharge designated to support victim services, ensuring that resources are available for those affected by such crimes. This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and judicial authorities in Essex to combat the possession and distribution of illegal and harmful material, especially involving minors and animals, and highlights the importance of community safety and offender accountability.
