EX-SPANDAU BALLET SINGER FOUND GUILTY OF RAPE AND ATTEMPTED RAPE
Update 30/04/2026: Musician Ross Davidson, a former singer for Spandau Ballet, has been jailed for 14 years for multiple rapes and sexual assaults.Davidson, 38, was convicted across two trials of two counts of rape, an attempted rape, three sexual assaults and two charges of voyeurism, in offences committed against six women between August 2013 and December 2019.

Davidson, known professionally as Ross Wild, was both a singer in a band and an actor in the West End production We Will Rock You, which pays tribute to Queen, in 2018.
The 37-year-old from Finchley in North London was accused of multiple sexual offenses.
He denied each allegation, maintaining he did not commit the crimes of rape in London in March 2015, or attempted rape and sexual assault in Thailand in December 2019.
Following an eleven-hour jury review, the court at Wood Green Crown Court found Davidson guilty of all charges on Wednesday.
The case revealed that Davidson, originally from Aberdeen, committed these assaults because he believed he could get sex whenever he wanted.
Prosecutor Richard Hearnden said Davidson had a reputation as "a bit of a sex symbol," but the victims noticed his darker side over time.
He described Davidson as charming and charismatic, yet capable of resorting to rape and sexual assault if he felt he was entitled to what he wanted.
Both women met Davidson through Tinder.
The woman who was raped testified she felt "helpless" and was "scared to respond" when he assaulted her while she was sleeping.
She also stated that Davidson had mentioned his interest in having sex with a mannequin, describing it as a helpless, unmoving individual.
Davidson self-identified as "sex positive," explaining that this meant having open conversations and being accepting of various sexual preferences and experimental activities.
In December 2019, Davidson pleaded guilty to a voyeurism charge in Thailand after secretly filming the woman as she slept.
The woman testified that she awoke in a hotel room to find Davidson attempting non-consensual sex.
Police tracked down Davidson after finding the video on his phone.
The woman was unaware of the recording until she was informed by authorities in 2023.
While admitting to voyeurism, Davidson denied sexual assault, claiming he filmed for his own sexual gratification and that he had permission to touch her but not to record.
He told the court, "I wish I had never done it." The court also noted that he had previously been convicted of rape, sexual assault, and voyeurism in earlier proceedings.
He is expected to face sentencing for these offenses at a future date, with additional proceedings scheduled for February 4.
