RONALD BUSH OF SOUTHEND ON SEA SENTENCED AFTER ONLINE GROOMING CAUGHT BY PAEDOPHILE HUNTING TEAM
In February 2019, Ronald Bush of Southend on Sea was sentenced after being caught engaging in sexual communication with a decoy online profile believed to belong to a schoolgirl.
Bush appeared in court and admitted to contacting the profile, which he thought was a young girl, and sent highly sexualised messages with the intent of initiating sexual activity.
The court was informed that the profile Bush contacted was not an actual child but a decoy from the paedophile hunting team ‘No more Silent Voices.’ This team operates by posing online as children to catch predators attempting to exploit minors.
The judge sentenced Bush to 14 months in prison.
Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years, and a ten-year sexual harm prevention order was imposed.
