Perth Child Abuser Rapist
Robin Porter, a man with a troubling criminal history and known as a musician in Perth, has been placed back into custody following a disturbing discovery made by police during a routine investigation. The authorities uncovered a single image depicting child abuse on his laptop, which has now led to his remand.

Porter, who is now 42 years old, has a long history of serious offenses. In 2014, he was sentenced to a decade behind bars after admitting to the heinous act of raping a woman at his residence on Scott Street in Perth. During the court proceedings, Porter expressed remorse to his victim, stating, "Sorry, that was horrible. I went too far and I didn’t like it." His admission and subsequent sentencing underscored the severity of his previous crime.

Further compounding his criminal record, Porter was found to possess a child abuse image while living in homeless accommodation at Skinnergate in Perth in November 2020. Police investigations revealed an obscene photograph stored within a folder on his laptop, showing a teenage girl estimated to be between 13 and 15 years old. The girl was depicted topless and only wearing pants, a disturbing image that raised serious concerns about Porter’s ongoing risk to the community. When questioned, Porter claimed that some of his images were 'borderline,' a statement that did little to mitigate the gravity of his possession of such material.

As a consequence of this offense, Porter was sentenced to an additional 10 months in prison. The court was informed that he was classified as a high-risk offender capable of causing serious harm, with the image in question having been created on November 15, 2020. His legal representative highlighted that Porter had already spent 18 months in remand since his arrest and described him as a music teacher who aspires to reintegrate into society. Despite these hopes, the court emphasized the importance of caution, given his criminal background and the nature of the offenses.

In the end, the sheriff imposed a custodial sentence, underscoring that although the image was not the worst possible, it was still unacceptable for someone with Porter’s history. The court also mandated that Porter remain on the Sex Offenders Register for a period of five years, reflecting the ongoing concern for community safety and the need for continued monitoring of his activities.
