Bexley Child Sexual Abuser
In August 2013, Robert Stow, a 64-year-old resident of Hurst Road in Bexley, was sentenced to over four years in prison after admitting to a series of serious sex offences involving underage girls. The case was heard at Woolwich Crown Court, where Stow pleaded guilty to a total of 24 charges on August 16.

Judge Michael Topolski delivered the sentence on the following Monday, sentencing Stow to a cumulative term of four years and three months behind bars. The charges against him included two counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14, as well as six counts of assault on a girl under the age of 13. These allegations highlight the disturbing nature of his crimes involving very young victims.

Further, a significant portion of the charges—sixteen in total—pertained to the possession and creation of indecent images and videos of children. These images ranged across all five levels of severity, indicating the extent and seriousness of the material involved. Stow pleaded guilty to 11 counts of possessing indecent photographs and five counts of making such images, demonstrating his direct involvement in the exploitation and distribution of child abuse material.

Additionally, two other charges of indecent assault on a girl under 14 were left on file, meaning they were not actively pursued but could be considered in future proceedings if necessary. As part of his sentencing, Stow was also subject to a sexual offences prevention order, restricting his activities and contact, and was required to register as a sex offender until further notice, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his conduct.

Overall, the case underscores the severity of the crimes committed by Robert Stow in Bexley and the justice system’s response to protect vulnerable children from such predatory behavior.
