BISHOPBRIGGS RAPIST SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS AFTER SECOND ATTACK
A convicted rapist who committed a second assault two months after being released on licence was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Robert Sinclair, aged 25, admitted to repeatedly raping a 24-year-old prostitute on the Clyde walkway in Glasgow city centre.
Judge Lord Bracadale described Sinclair as a danger to women and ordered that he be monitored in the community for five years after his release, as well as placing him on the sex offenders' register.
The judge also noted that Sinclair planned the second rape before leaving home on the night of the attack.
Sinclair, from Bishopbriggs, was released on licence from a seven-year sentence for rape handed down at the High Court in Edinburgh.
The court emphasized that Sinclair had gone out looking for a victim that night, and that there is a high risk of reoffending.
His 10-year sentence will begin in two years, after he completes the remaining part of his previous rape sentence.
