ROBERT LANE OF ATHGARVAN, CO. KILDARE, ORDERED NOT TO LOITER AROUND SCHOOLS OR PHOTOGRAPH CHILDREN IN JULY 2016
In July 2016, a man in his mid-30s was legally instructed to avoid children and refrain from taking photographs of minors following his recent arrest in County Kildare.Garda John Butler appeared at Naas Court on Thursday to detail the case against 35-year-old Robert Lane, residing at 7 Riverside Grove, Athgarvan, Co.
Kildare.
Lane faced charges for possessing two USB sticks containing images of child sex abuse as well as a laptop, both at a residence in Newbridge, on 22 January 2013.
The court granted Lane a bail of €100, but with strict conditions.
He is explicitly prohibited from being in contact with anyone under 18, loitering near playgrounds or primary schools, and taking photographs of children under 18 under any circumstance.
Additionally, Lane must surrender his passport, abstain from alcohol, and is forbidden from photographing any child under 18.
He is also barred from approaching or communicating with any minors without parental or guardian approval.
A book of evidence will be prepared for the case, with Lane scheduled to return to Naas District Court on 16 October.
Judge John Coughlan did not impose any reporting restrictions on the case.
