HULL SEX OFFENDER WITH 'DEEP-SEATED INTEREST IN CHILDREN' JAILED AGAIN
A serial sex offender with a "chronic and deep-seated sexual interest in children" has been jailed again after failing to learn his lesson following three previous prison sentences.
Robert Johnson was found with sickening sexual images of children, some of them as young as just five years old, and he was in breach of court orders designed to tackle his "engrained" behaviour, Hull Crown Court heard.
Johnson, 38, of Louis Street, off Spring Bank, Hull, but recently in custody on remand, admitted three offences of breaching his requirements as a convicted sex offender as well as breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
He also admitted three offences of making indecent images of children and another of possessing prohibited images of children.
Prosecutor Maya Hanson said a sexual harm prevention order was made on January 19, 2018, and a probation officer was responsible for managing Johnson in the community.
His mobile phone was checked on August 27, revealing deleted internet searches and unregistered email addresses.
The police found an indecent image of a 13-year-old girl, and images of girls aged five, seven, and nine were discovered.
Johnson had previous convictions in 2014, 2017, and 2021, including jail terms of three years, 18 months, and most recently, 20 months in February 2024.
He admitted breaching registration requirements and possessing indecent and extreme sexual images involving animals.
The court described his deep-seated sexual interest in children and sentenced him to three years and eight months in prison, with an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and mandatory registration as a sex offender for life.
Johnson did not cooperate fully with police during recent contacts and failed to register his address after release, complicating ongoing supervision.
