FAMILY FROM CHEPSTOW JAILED FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY AND NEGLECT
The four Murdin family members - Rob, Nicola, Laurie, and Matty - admitted to causing unnecessary suffering to an elderly dog named Spot.
The dog was in such a critical condition that he had to be euthanised immediately by a veterinarian.
The charges against them include failing to investigate and treat Spot’s severe health issues, which involved large tumours invading his nasal and oral cavities, resulting in severe infections.
Their neglect occurred in Chepstow between November 3, 2024, and December 3, 2024.
The court sentenced Rob Murdin to an 18-week custodial sentence suspended for 12 months.
Each was ordered to pay £554 in costs and surcharge.
Additionally, they were disqualified from keeping animals for 10 years, a ban set to expire in July 2035.
