MAN JAILED OVER HISTORIC CHILD SEX OFFENCES

A man from West Yorkshire has received a prison sentence of over six years due to past child sexual abuse charges.

Robert Harper, aged 55 and residing in Skelmanthorpe, Huddersfield, appeared at Leeds Crown Court on Friday, February 10, for sentencing following his conviction the previous day.

Harper was sentenced to six years and six months behind bars on four counts of indecently assaulting a boy.

In addition to his prison term, he will be mandated to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
