WOMAN-BEATER JAILED FOR SEVERE ASSAULT INCLUDING FRACTURING PARTNER'S CHEEKBONE
A woman who was injured after her partner fractured her cheekbone has publicly spoken about her experience in court proceedings.
She outlined how Robert Ebutt, her partner, controlled, manipulated, assaulted, and took advantage of her throughout their relationship.
She recounted that he pushed her down the stairs, and the violence continued even after she was hospitalized with a broken cheekbone.
The court heard that Ebutt, who lives at Oversetts Court, Newhall, threw a bottle, pushed her down the stairs, and hit her so hard that her cheekbone was fractured, all while he was under the influence of drugs.
He was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm by assault, as well as two counts of assault and criminal damage.
The judge sentenced Ebutt to 30 months in prison and issued a five-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the woman or going near her home.
The victim told the court: ‘I used to be confident and happy, but after what he did to me, I don’t even try to defend myself anymore.
I am a shadow of my former self.
He has exploited, beaten, controlled, and manipulated me, and I need to end this.
I am determined to put an end to his control and abuse.’
